Halo: Reach Review

So you waited months for this game, you waited hours in line at midnight, and you waited days for this review so here goes...

Overall, one of the finest games you will ever play. The depth is unmatched by any other. A lot of time went into this game and it shows.

Campaign: the best campaign ever? Probably a close second to Halo 1, but much bigger. Most missions you are with a team member or a few. On legendary you might as well be by yourself. They do almost no damage and can take a couple minutes to take out a grunt on their own. Three teammates at once and you can get somewhere. You spartan team cant die, but you will, over and over. You know how Halo legendary is... Good thing it saves often. The flying missions are a good break and the entire campaign has about 10 levels. Of course up to four can play the game together. Your customized Spartan will be the one you play as, and you will see him/her in the cut scenes. Nice touch.

Online multiplayer: you know what to expect here. The major changes include a special ability which you can select. They go from sprint to jetpack to invisibility and a few things in between. Weapons have been balanced a little and the pistol is back with a vengeance. Tons of multiplayer options, daily and weekly challenges, and now you earn credits instead of a rank.

Everything else: Forge is now really easy to make a map and share it. Theater is back. Character customization has vastly improved with more than just different helmets. All in all the most complete game you will ever buy. Halo has returned. Yay!

The Preview

The second most anticipated game of the year (COD: Black Ops) is here (Sept 14th). Halo usually doesnt take second to anyone, but after a lack luster Halo 3, a rare console RTS in Halo Wars, and a just plain disappointing ODST. Most suspect Halo has peaked long ago. Bungie has to pull a rabbit out of its ass this time or the franchise can never be the same again. A lot of fans like myself, who have been through thick and thin, deserve an awesome game and are expecting Bungie to deliver. Do it for Master Chief and do it for Earth. Now lets armor up...

Monday Night Combat Review

Get ready for some robot killin, combat arena playing, third person shooting fun. And I mean tons of it. Monday Night Combat is addicting and I refuse to put it down. Even had to stop playing COD for a couple days to get my fix. You have two game modes, Blitz and Crossfire. Blitz puts you against waves of bots in a game show type arena with fans looking on. Crossfire puts teams of three against each other, both trying to lead their bots to the promised land. Characters are your standard with about 6 to choose from. Each one is equally balanced and fun to play with. Money rewards add a lot of strategy to the game. What do I do? Upgrade my mini gun or buy a turret? I think I will just give Monday Night Combat a 4.2 out of 5. It is only 15 bucks after all.

Red Dead Redemption Review

Ooooohh yeah.... GTA in the Old West. This game makes you feel like you lived in the Old West. Duels, gunfights, moonshine, poker, and Mexicans sneaking in across the border. I like GTA and I love this game. Lots of depth and you can stay on the missions if you choose or be like me and try to do every little thing possible from finding buried treasures to picking flowers. How about trotting along a dirt road in Mexico and seeing a random guy jump off his donkey and take a piss on a rock. Awesome environment. With the new co-op missions this is an all around gem. Another one from Rockstar.

News Release

Red Dead Redemption will be releasing a new co-op mission pack June 22nd! Its what Ive been waiting for. I can play with my friends without lagging out and reloading until I restart my X-box. Best of all its a gift to me for just buying the game. I will support this even if I didn't get addicted to the game beforehand. Thankfully some companies still appreciate the gamers. Me and Tisok will be online and hopefully Motormuscles gets this game soon. "Mount Up"!

Alan Wakes Up

Alan Wake Review

A psycho dramatic thriller set in a small hick town, set in Alan's mind.
Or is it? This story has more creepy twists and turns than a Stephen
King novel. Which is ironically, who this game would be about if
Stephen King was younger, could aim a rifle, and got lost in his own
mind. I was expecting this game to 'attempt' to be scary but instead
it turns out to be more of a thriller, which it does very well Story
wise Alan Wake will keep you alive from the beginning to the end.
Levels are well thought out and even with the dark and ghostly theme each
level has, they are all interesting. They never feel repetitive and
each one is better than the next. Gameplay is super solid with my only
complant being there were not more weapons and more ways to kill the
'Taken'. Overall a very good game that is worthy of a replay on the
Nightmare setting. Lets hope I wake up because I give Alan Wake 3.8 out
of 5 stars.
